I'll be honest with you: Ben Bergeron is not for everyone. He is blunt, he is direct, and he will hold a mirror up to your life in a way that is deeply uncomfortable. If you are not ready for hard truths, skip this one.
The idea that stuck with me most was his five levels of mindset: Victim, Pessimist, Optimist, Realist, and Warrior. When I first heard it, I did what I suspect most people do. I immediately placed myself in one particular area. But the more I sat with it, the more honest I became. In building Wildest Dream, I sometimes feel like a Warrior, but if I’ve slept badly I might find myself drifting to pessimism.
Ben also argues that rituals are not just nice habits. They are the discipline and practice that close the gap between your potential and your actual performance. Every distraction, every snooze button, every skipped workout is costing your future self.
